Courageous
Law enforcement officers Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, and their partners stand up to the worst the streets have to offer with confidence and focus. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. They know that God desires to turn the hearts of fathers to their children, but their children are beginning to drift further and further away from them. When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God... and to their children?

Best movie of this year hands down!
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
I've seen a lot of terrible fictional jesus this jesus that movies... well they are all atrocious but this one wins by a mile. Tried to last 45 minutes thinking it could get anywhere but forget it: it does not. Will just get you sickToo many quality movies out there: don't waste a minute on this one.
In this film, faith changes the lives of four policemen who try to become role models for their children. It's one of the so-called "Christian movies", made by US evangelical Christians to propagandize their ideas. The central idea is that a good Christian should also be a modeling husband and father, but this applies to any husband and father, regardless of religion. It's a matter of common sense rather than religion, although the doctrine of many religions points that direction. Thus, this film isn't likely to offend the religious sensibilities of most non-evangelical audiences, despite the discreet, but always present and boring, evangelical propaganda. In fact, the film's worst is the insistence on biblical quotations, pastors and the whole evangelical environment, surely unpleasant to anyone who doesn't belong to this faction of Christianity. Most of the film is spent building the characters and their familiar environment but this turns it excessively warm, still and long. There are some good action scenes but it's best not to watch it only for seeing that. What we have here, basically, is a good film with a moralizing background but that displeases by it's high religious charge. If it were cleaner or if it sought to cover other denominations that have the same mindset (Catholics, Anglicans, Jews or Muslims etc.) it would have been more digestible.
Alex and Stephen Kendrick's Courageous provides us a film that would like to address fathers to become responsible towards their families particularly the needs of their children. This Christian movie that stars Alex Kendrick himself together with Ken Bevel,Kevin Downes,Ben Davies and Robert Amaya tells a story about four cops that faces family problems particularly becoming fathers due to their demanding schedule. But things began to change when one of the cop's young daughter died in an unexpected accident. These officers started to look into themselves as fathers and started to deal with their role as parents to their children particularly teen-agers.While it was definitely a great movie,non-Christians who do not subscribe to the religious beliefs will definitely not appreciate it.Also, the story handled too many situations for its own good.It maybe go well as they resolution of most of the fatherhood issues was primarily to foster a better relationship with the Lord through prayer and scriptures which apparently won't sit well with the non- believers and realists alike.Nevertheless,it was still a nice to have a film addressing fathers to man up to their role as dads especially to their children.
This is such a wonderful movie. I think we all know it is a Christian movie so not sure why some were offended by that? I am offended when I see a movie that is full of cursing and sexually charged images. This company just keeps producing better and better movies as they grow. We beat up on our men in society today and it was refreshing to see a movie that speaks something positive into men, fathers and husbands in such a profound way. It was full of very funny moments and heart aching tear jerking moments with the loss of a daughter. The movie does exactly what it intended to do, encourage fathers and lift them back up into their role as dads and what more important message can there be? There is nothing offensive about loving a God who loved us enough to give his son for our sins or for encouraging men to have courage and be great fathers. This movie was inspired, clean and funny!
