The Lazarus Project
After Ben Garvey foolishly turned back to crime, he thought his life was over when he was sentenced to death by lethal injection. But his death sentence isn't quite what it seems, as Ben regains consciousness near an eerie psychiatric ward, where he's told he's been hired as the groundskeeper. With the state of his soul in question, and the love for his wife and daughter all the more real and powerful, Ben must figure out if he's truly cheated death, or if he's become part of something far more sinister.

Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
This film is similar in the plot like Shutter Island that came two years later. The difference is that this movie is a lot better. And I'm guessing Scorsese was greatly inspired by this movie. Only this wasn't a Scorsese picture with Leonardo Di Caprio in it so nobody noticed this.Some of the best acting from the late Paul Walker. Those of you who thinks he was just a pretty face, watch this.I don't wanna give away too much, except to say that the ending of this movie is a lot more satisfying than the stupid twist and ending of Shutter Island.Another difference is that this movie is very quiet in it's pace and it doesn't try so hard to come off as a horror movie like the moronic Shutter Island, because it doesn't need to.I definitely recommend this movie. And if you haven't seen either this or Shutter Island, watch this and pretend Shutter Island don't excist.
I basically agree with Lordlahkra's review. This is a well made Psychological Mystery / Thriller. It is a bit slow moving, but it does intrigue you as to what exactly happened to this guy and if there are indeed some Supernatural influences at play.I always like Bob Gunther's roles; I was gonna reference another role of his where he plays a similar character (actually, he has played MANY characters like this one : ) However, I don't want to give too much away!It is nicely put together and acting is very good. As Lord said, this film is for those who don't mind a slow paced Mystery.Giving this a '7' may be a BIT generous, but If you REALLY like Slow Burners, then you should enjoy this movie.Recommended!
This is one hell of a lousy movie.Some guy mentioned how you could call the pacing slow.Well, for a thriller to be called that, you have to keep the pacing brisk.This film just drags on and on with the same monotonous music score playing in the background.There are some surprises and and moments of suspense but they are dulled by the incredibly dragging pace which deprives them of the trill element.You know the word rambling?? Well, that's a fit description of what this movie really is.To call this movie a gem is ludicrous.Perhaps the Western public are fed up with the extremely fast pace of their own lives and seem to welcome some slowness albeit in movies and think that this is a very commendable proposition.....!
The premise was ridiculous- however some have asked why would they spend the money to help a few criminals- one reviewer who didn't get it called others morons for thinking the movie was slow. They are just testing on a small group of death row types to hopefully expand to all crazy people. Anyhow, typical pretentious garbage. The plot makes no sense, is totally unbelievable and has too many holes. However, I saw it on a rainy day and it is good enough for that kind of viewing situation. At some point I hung on long enough to see how it ended. Watch it just don't expect too much.
