Soul Plane
Following a ridiculously awful flight that leads to his pet's death, Nashawn Wade files a lawsuit against the airline, and wins a multimillion-dollar settlement. Determined to create a better flying experience, Nashawn starts his own airline, one that caters to an African-American clientele. Going into business with a tricked-out plane piloted by the smooth Capt. Mack, the airline hits a snag when it has to deal with the family of Elvis Hunkee.

Good concept, poorly executed.
Don't Believe the Hype
Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

This is a spoof movie with lots of sight gags and should be watched as such . BLACK and WHITE people alike should take the humor for what it is ... HUMOR !!!! There are to many funny parts in this movie to talk about all of them ( the part with the blind black man fingering the backed potato was HILARIOUS) but here a few / the young whit kid that played Tom Arnold's son was funny as hell portraying a wigger & Terry Crews was funny as the security guy who checked if you were or were not on the " LIST " to get in the club ! In short , all normal people with a sense of humor should enjoy this movie , all others stay away please ... Liked it so much after I rented it I bought it !
After eating Beef Stroganoff on an airplane, obnoxious passenger Kevin Hart (as Nashawn Wade) has to make a quick run to the restroom. While making a noisy bowel movement, the plane encounters turbulence and Mr. Hart gets himself stuck in the toilet seat. He sues the airline and is awarded $100 million. Hart decides to use the money to create his own airline, called N.W.A. (Nashawn Wade Airlines). The initials are probably also meant to evoke T.W.A. and the name of a rap group (one with Attitude). Toilet, sex and race humor dominates, courtesy of writers Bo Zenga and Chuck Wilson. Their cleverest joke is on Michael Jackson. The director who keeps this turkey in the sky is Jessy Terrero. Other names in the cast are Tom Arnold, who was married to Rosanne Barr four wives ago, and legendary rapper Snoop Dogg. The latter performs on the soundtrack, but it doesn't make this film any less painful.* Soul Plane (5/28/04) Jessy Terrero ~ Kevin Hart, Tom Arnold, Method Man, Snoop Dogg
Let me start off by saying that this is not a good movie at all. But if you view this film under the right circumstances, it can be quite enjoyable. I watched this with my best friend on a rainy night with nothing better to do. We knew this wasn't gonna be the next "Airplne", but we still had a pretty good time. You have to see the movie for what it is, and what it's trying to accomplish. I believe the finished project was roughly everything the filmmakers planned it out to be. It's a stupid movie, that get's 99.9% of it's jokes by stereotyping blacks. That's not gonna win a lot of awards, but you can see how it can be good for a laugh between two white, Wisconsin boys.My belly wasn't sore after viewing this, but I still chuckled constantly throughout with a couple cases of large laughs. Soul Plane does have funny performances by Tom Arnold and Snoop Dogg, but does suffer from the scenes with the supposed lead played by Kevin Hart. The whole romance struggle he's in has no place in a movie like this. And while the movie has plenty of giggles, it seems to drastically die down towards the end; the end can't come soon enough. If you like black stereotype humor but the negative reviews are making you cautious, I would recommend Steve Martin's "Bringing Down the House" instead.
...but I love this movie. For what it's worth, I am a white gay male of well-above-average intelligence....but I laugh my ass off every time I see this movie. As completely mindless, silly, joyful entertainment, I rank it up there with other classics (in my mind) like "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," "Half Baked," and the "Scary Movie" offerings. Lighten up, light up, and enjoy! (For God's sake, at least there's plenty of eye candy.) My favorite moments: (1) Any scene with Kevin Hart, who is friggin' gorgeous; (2) Mo'Nique; there ain't never 'nuff 'Nique---beauty, brains, humor---man, she's the answer; (3) "I'm a playah!" (4) Method Man is adorable (regardless of what my friends say), and last, but far from least....Snoop! If Snoop's in it, I love it!
