It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
When I first watched this movie I didn't really think it would be up to much but I was very wrong. Not only was the movie enjoyable, but it had a great soundtrack and good actors playing the parts. There was also a sad part which is so unexpected (unlike most kids movies these days).The movie involves a boy named Rafe and revolves around his day to day struggles at middle school hence the title "Middle School". The movie incorporates cartoons with real life because Rafe likes doodling and has a wild imagination. Although this movie is more for kids, there are quite a few adult jokes throughout the movie that will most likely confuse kids.There is also a reasonable amount of mild swearing so just keep that in mind if viewing with younger children. The movie is very inspiring and makes you love the world a little more. If only more directors caught on to this kind of movie.
SPOILER ALERTthis movie is such a waste of time. As an avid reader of the books I was offended by how they treated this series. by adding boob jokes and toilet humor. After watching this I was wondering if they even realized that this was a book.Literally the only good part was the animations from Rafes notebook. You know its sad when the only good parts last 5 minutes long and aren't even the main story.Also their is a large amount of racism like when the janitor say a Japanese battle cry, The sister of RAfe (georgia) says "did you just have a stroke?" and the principal forcing the vice principal (who is black) to always carry all of his stuff and forcing her to get fired with him. The main character Rafe is such an over-privileged douche bag. Thinking that the world always must revolve around him. If one thing doesn't work out for him he gets revenge. In a way worse way like vandalism. Middle school worst years of my life? more like worst adaptation of my life. this is also a pandering piece of garbage
hi, It is a awesome movie.The visual Effects,script,storytelling,comedy,music all are awesome.It is my first movie in which i worked as a 3D Artist.So from that point of view,I loved the movie .....I can say its perfect entertaining movie .In Indian words "Full Paisa visual Movie".... I suggest one must watch this movie if they love their school to refresh there school life.All artist have done best work,specially the lead character's acting is up to best.In short watch this movie.Thank you
I took my kids to see this yesterday. My daughter is 12 and son is 8. Rafe is a talented, creative junior high school student-though I don't recall if they ever specifically said what grade he was in. He has been kicked out of other schools and he lands at this one. This is his last chance. The school has ridiculous rules and an aloof, dorky principal who seems to take pleasure in enforcing these stupid rules. Well rules were made to be broke and Rafe and his friends refuse to follow them and break them all, leading to hilarious results.Mom has an idiot boyfriend who doesn't realize the kids are getting the last laugh at him.It reminded me of the "Diary of a wimpy kid" movies with the drawings that come to life aspect.Highly recommend as this movie is fun for the whole family.
