It is a performances centric movie
How sad is this?
Good movie but grossly overrated
Best movie of this year hands down!
There are a lot of red headed actresses out there that would have been much better than Katherine Heigel. One for examples is Debra Messing, I don't think she was too old for the part and she has proved she is great at playing "zany" type characters. She has been very good in TV comedies and is usually just genuinely quite funny. The same with the casting of Joe and Ranger, there were much better choices. These books have a lot a fans and I am sure all have their choices for who would have been best, but I can't image anyone was happy with these choices. It's too bad this movie was terrible, some of these books were quite funny and they could have maybe done a few sequels.
I was so excited to see a movie made of one of my favorite books. Katherine Heigl was the perfect choice for Stephanie Plum, she brought the character from the book to life convincingly. All the characters were perfect from the book. The only character that didn't translate well to the movie was the car, old blue, needed to be an older car, but it worked anyway. This movie is pure entertainment, just like the books, the character development, action and the little things that make it such a good read are all present in the movie. I am so looking forward to any more that Sony pictures can do with this book series, I can't wait for another movie from Janet Evonovich's books.
I just watched it on TV. I expected it to be a rom-com with some good jokes. I did no get that. It's actually more like a very light film noir, without most of atmosphere or the interesting story. I don't remember if there was a joke I enjoyed enough to laugh. The action sequences were few, but not bad. The music was solid. The acting was OK. The real problem with it was, for me, the story. I am not even sure wtf was the story. It was uninteresting. On the plus side, Katherine Heigl was very pleasant to the eyes. So, why do I give it a 7? Because somehow it managed to make me stay and watch it till the end, without getting bored. Which is remarkable since I found the story so boring. It's not a bad movie. It's average, but still very watchable and strangely...fun?
Well done, well paced. Read all of the books. Really glad to see it brought to life. The only problem was with "Grandma" who was too young and not eccentric enough and too glamorous. Everybody has character anticipation when the book moves to the screen. Katherine Heigl was perfect for the part. The movie flowed and hung together. The characters were funny and unique, easily likable and memorable. There was chemistry between the characters, that was obvious. Compared to the long list of throw-away movies flooding the market these days, it was like a breath of fresh air. I always like movies about Jersey, and this one a great one. It didn't take itself too seriously, and portrayed the area, the accents, the locals the eccentricity to a tee. An easy movie to watch and enjoy.
