It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

First, the fans of actors. each - far to have the decent script. the second , the fans of easy action movies. chaotic, unrealistic, using the presence of actors only as excuse. not the last , the fans of violence. in large frames, without any logic. and, maybe, the public looking for memories about real films and roles for each actor. because, except the title, so strange for a too modest film, nothing could be OK with this film.

Fails on every level and whoever wrote the script kind of guessed or knew that well. The only way this film keeps you watching is some general kind of suspense about what anything means in it - what anything is for. Does it have any purpose? As it turns out - it all means nothing, or the unsaid, and it isn't possible to care in any event.A serious, serious, serious avoider. It doesn't even pretend to make any much sense by the end. This must be one of the worst films I have ever seen. The budget must have been huge also - Willis, Weaver, but it isn't even in the world of failed A-list films. I doubt it even makes it into failed D-list films, so the Hollywood A- list cast inclusions and budget for the Spanish locations just leaves you utterly bewildered. Why on earth? Who would do this?If this is on TV it will waste hours of your life if you watch. Whatever you do, don't exchange any money for this film, streaming or disc.

Of course, this isn't your Oscar nominated movie of the year with amazing cinematography or anything like that. However, it does have fast paced action scenes and big name actors, plus cleavage if you want to get an erection! Sounds good? Then go watch this movie! If it doesn't sound good, don't go and watch this movie. You have to know what kind of movie you are going to watch before you watch The Cold Light Of Day. It's basically an ordinary action movie. If that doesn't explain whether you'll like the movie or not, continue reading and find out if you will!PLOT:I think this plot has been done numerous times by now, which is sort of a flaw. The plot's basically Henry Cavill's family being kidnapped in Spain, and he tries to find them while having some gun fights on the way. Just in case you don't know, this is a Henry Cavill and Signourey Weaver movie, NOT a Bruce Willis movie. *MINOR SPOILER* Bruce Willis gets killed near the start of the movie *MINOR SPOILER*, so it isn't exactly a Bruce Willis movie if you're a fan of him. However, if you are a fan of Signourey Weaver and Henry Cavill movies, go watch this! They make the plot seem a ton better than it is! I rate the plot 6.5/10!ACTING:The acting is brilliant! Probably because Henry Cavill and Signourey Weaver are the main characters in it. However, not one of the other actors, INCLUDING small part actors, were bad either! To be honest, this movie has superb acting, considering it is a mindless action movie, so the story is more believable. So, you can give acting a big tick on your list of whether you'll like The Cold Light Of Day or not! I rate the acting a 9/10!CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT:In a mindless action movie? You're kidding! However, that was one thing that really annoyed me in this movie. The characters in the movie seemed like cardboard stand ups with no personality whatsoever. We never really got to see how the character's personalities were like, and it was very annoying, because I like character development in movies. You shouldn't be expecting character development in these sort of movies anyway, so you should figure out that it's quite bad. I rate the character development a 1/10!ACTION:Tons of it! Pretty much every twenty minutes, you'll see an action scene of some sort, and sometimes you'll see an action scene every five minutes! Like I said before, this has LOADS of action! I rate the action 9.9/10!Okay, if that didn't help you make up your decision, I don't know what will. But, I do hope you go and see this movie, expecting a predictable action movie, not an Oscar nominated masterpiece. I rate this movie a 6.7/10!

I tried to give this the benefit of the doubt despite the bad reviews but still lost interest pretty quickly. It's not that it's that terrible its just not all that interesting. The plot is your standard (generic) who can I trust, spy thriller, that you've seen a hundred times before. The Spanish location is refreshing and pretty as is Henry Cavill -pretty that is, but he's not a great actor and struggles through this leading role wearing some really bad clothes (I have to add.) Bruce Willis is given top billing but is barely in the movie and just seems to smirk his way through his scenes, I'm not even sure he's acting? And then we have Sigourney Weaver who kicks ass but I've seen her play this exact role before (Abduction) and she doesn't do a great job here either. On the plus side there's some great car chases and lots of action through the streets (and steps) of Madrid. 6/7/14
