good back-story, and good acting
As Good As It Gets
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
I don know how to start. Its one of worst, if is not the worst movie ever made! They claim to show 4 stories with a female perspective and the least awful story is the first one (The box), wrote by a man. The next three others stories are worse than awful, "they make no sense in every sense" (its a joke). I think they tried to make a new "Little Deaths (2011)", british movie with 3 terror stories, but they failure in everything, casting, acting, directing and most of all, the plot.again, don't!
All in the eyes of the beholder. Not exactly spine tingling; lackluster may be the right word. But good intentions to spotlight up and coming female directors like Roxanne Benjamin, Annie Clark, Jovanka Vuckovic and Karyn Kusama. Four short horror tales all featuring female leads tippy toeing into the darker side of the female imagination. My favorite segment is "The Birthday Party" starring the fetching Melanie Lynskey and featuring Lindsay Burdge. There is also "Her Only Living Son" featuring Christina Kirk and Lisa Renee Pitts. Another segment called "Don't Fall" stars Angela Trimbur and Breeda Wool. The opening tale is titled "The Box" and stars Natalie Brown and Peyton Kennedy. I don't want to imply this collection is meant to be horror for the intelligent; but let's say intended for a viewer with varied life experiences. Nothing really shocking here, but tapping individual whimsy of the darker kind.
If you're looking for another predictable mainstream horror this film is not for you. Considering it's super indie and each story is only 20 mins long, it's really brilliant.
This film is made up of four unconnected horror stories. The first segment is more mystery than horror, as there is something strange going on but it is not revealed. There is only one brief scene that is horrible, but it looks quite out of place with the rest of the story. The second segment is just comedy, I didn't find anything scary with it. The third segment is a slasher, so it is not my thing. The fourth one is the best, as it is suspenseful and scary.
