Memorable, crazy movie

Good story, Not enough for a whole film

Alex, a mysterious thief, is pulled in by her former partner for one last heist. She quickly finds it was never just about the diamonds. A brutal murder sparks a cat and mouse chase between Alex and a master assassin. Now she must uncover the lies behind the heist and discover the secrets behind the men who have made her a target. Momentum is a better action film that it might got credit for with both Olga and James Purefoy being excellent in their roles and even Morgan Freeman's role was decent enough, the action was quite well directed and the plot was interesting enough for me. Overall a decent enough action film with a well known and talented cast that does a great job. (7/10)

Alexis Farraday (Olga Kurylenko) gets pulled into another job by her running mate Kevin Fuller. It's a bank heist to steal diamonds. Alexis gets unmasked in a fight against one of the robbery crew. Mr. Washington (James Purefoy) hired by a Senator (Morgan Freeman) comes looking not just for the diamonds but a computer drive. He kills Fuller but Alexis escapes with the drive.The story is simple. It relies on action and not much else. It's alright for a 90's gun fight action film. The action is done well enough. There is a good variety of gun, hand-to-hand, and car chases. It needs more in terms of dialog and characterization. The writing is lackluster. Kurylenko is still not the best actress around and struggles to be the lead. Campanelli is trying make the jump from camera operator to director. A simple thing like more specificity to Freeman's character would help. The movie often stalls when the action gets stuck in one location. It becomes static especially for an action movie. The camera work may be correct but the directing is unimaginative.

No doubt Morgan Freeman is a quality actor but you have to admit that sometimes he appears in bad movies. This one is again a perfect example where they use his name and where he has a minor role. Not that it would change anything if he had a bigger part in Momentum. The movie is a typical cat and mouse action movie. The action is okay even though a lot of the usual exaggerations. Since the series The Following I can't stand James Purefoy anymore. I think he's a very limited actor and he proves it again in this movie. And of course you need a nice looking bimbo as the super well trained chick that can take anybody down in a second. In this movie you get even two of those superwomen. Olga Kurylenko and Jenna Saras are apparently better fighters then any other special agents. The movie is full of clichés and sometimes so boring to watch you wonder how they come up with it. Besides a couple good action scenes the movie is just dumb and a waste of time.

AS ONE OF THE REVIEWERS MENTIONED THE ONLY THING GOOD ABOUT THE MOVIE WAS THE SOUNDTRACK. The movie was written by 5 years old maybe 6, as action and logic of it had no sense. Play by actors was ... dreadful I was surprised to see Morgan Freeman it this crap movie.... but hey... still got paid by doing it My wife felt asleep after 15 minutes and I decided to give it a chance and wasted 90 minutes of my life. I would say that was the worst movie I have ever watched and Total disaster If you have no more movies to watch... watch the one you watched in the past as they will be more interestingBWhatever you - DO NOT watch it
