The Protector 2
Kham is the last in long line of guards who once watched over the King of Thailand's war elephants. Traditionally, only the perfect elephants could successfully help defend the throne, after his harrowing quest to retrieve the elephants, Kham returns to his village to live in peace. But for someone as good in martial arts as him, peace is but a wishful thought.

It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
It seems like this was a forced excuse for a sequel of The Protector. Fight scenes look so artificial that viewers and fans of Tony Jaa will be seriously pulling their hair out watching them! None of the characters are strong enough or able to carry on they're own. There are occasional gems of fight scenes that disappear in a flash.Twenty as the sexy fighter vixen tries to bring in the eye candy since the script is actually seemingly lacking enough content to hold the eyeballs. Mum Jokmok brings about the only known face feel good effect to the movie but is sadly hardly there in it. The elephant by the way is also the other star that is rarely seen except in a few places so animal lovers can't get much from this one. The mix of two tiny sisters,a sexy fighter vixen, a black bad guy and a tired-looking hero is a total mix of senseless storytelling. Not worth the watch unless you have absolutely nothing else to opt for!
'THE PROTECTOR 2': Two and a Half Stars (Out of Five)Thai martial arts sequel to the 2005 hit 'TOM-YUM-GOONG' (known as 'THE PROTECTOR' in English). Thai superstar Tony Jaa returns to the title role of a fighter, now on the run from the law, who's trying to save his elephant (once again) from gangsters; that are trying to use it in a terrorist plot. Petchtai Wongkamlao also reprises his role as a police officer trying to aid the 'elephant protector'. It was directed by Prachya Pinkaew (who also directed the original) and written by Eakisit Thairaat. I liked the 2005 film quite a bit but this sequel I found to be pretty lackluster and boring. When Kham (Jaa) refuses to sell his elephant to a trader, named Suchart Vilawandei (Adinan Buntanaporn), it's stolen from him. He goes after Vilawandei, to get it back, when he finds him dead in his home. The trader's nieces, Ping-ping (Yanin "Jeeja" Vismitananda) and Sue-sue (Theerada Kittiseriprasert), see Kham standing next to their uncle's body and think he is responsible for his death. Soon the entire police force thinks Kham killed Vilawandei, as well, and Kham must turn to his old friend Mark (Wongkamlao), a police sergeant, for help. Mark has been chasing leads on a terrorist plan to disrupt the Kantana peace negotiations in Bangkok. Rza plays a crime boss involved in this terrorist plot. The movie has some pretty elaborate martial arts action scenes. Unlike previous Tony Jaa films though, there's a lot of visual effects and wire-work; it was also filmed in 3D. Although this is less impressive and pretty disappointing, to most Tony Jaa fans, I don't think it had anything to do with why the movie doesn't work. It's just a poorly conceived and clumsily executed film. The action scenes are cool but they get kind of boring, with almost no character development or story to go with them, and what little plot there is doesn't make much sense (most of the time). The villains aren't interesting or very threatening and Rza is horrible once again (like always). Jaa is still an awesome athlete and performer but he needs more talented people to work with than this.Watch our movie review show 'MOVIE TALK' at: youtu.be/N3ywdecCULw
I gotta admit, when it came to the story it's worse this time. However it's more fast paced and I thought it did a better job of transitioning into the fight sequences was done much better in this. It's not really a boring martial arts flick until the fight scene between Tony Jaa and Marrese Crump round one (which is the based scene in the movie in my opinion). After the 43 minute mark the movie goes downhill. Tony Jaa and the other stunt people uses quite a bit of wire works this time around. And the CGI and the special effects are pretty darn bad. I don't even know why they put it into the trailers with a girl smacking a guy with her hair in a serious fist fight. RZA is in this movie and the reasons he is probably in it, is because he is a fan of "Ong-Bak", martial arts movies, does a bit of martial arts practicing himself and he wanted to play a gangster mobster boss. However his acting is awful and comedic, he can't really do stunt or fight choreography that well. So Tony Jaa has to act weak while fighting him. This is a bland and lame sequel that tries to be cool with the rock music playing in the background. So many elements gets wasted in this movie, like the ranking with the numbers when it comes to the fighters. It really is pointless. Overall, if it didn't lose the entertainment value after the 43 minute mark, probably could have been better than the first one.4/10
oh my god how bad was this, all the moves and set ups were so slow and obvious, everything was just really bad, the acting the script the characters and jaa seriously like all your moves just became boring as you just elbowed people in the head constantly its not a great move its boring to watch, jump elbow in the head. Jump on a dirt book, elbow him in the head, run at people slide through their legs turn them around slowly and then just hits them in the top of the head...oh my god what a waste of nearly 2 hours :( so bad you better be putting some effort into fast and furious 7 you really do...if you want to see action this is not the film that you want to go and see, it is rubbish, the big scenes with the main fighters I thought OK this could be the big fight scenes I want to see, and no they were also rubbish, at one point they use star wars lightsaber sounds when they kick each other its like what the hell.I can actually say this is the worst martial arts film ever made...
