I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

This movie is just too short. With a running time at about 1 hour 20 min (without the credits), its a very short movie by todays standards. In that time, you get 4 origin stories (5 if you count the villains story), AND the entire movie, with build up, crisis and climax/resolution. There's just not enough time for it all. Everything feels kinda rushed in this movie. Especially lacking were little scenes of interaction between the characters. There were plenty of scenes with many characters, being told stuff by yet another character, but very few scenes with only two characters, actually having a dialogue. It's in the little scenes, you really learn about the protagonists, get to care about them, and those scenes just wasn't present in this movie. The CGIs were mostly good. The man/bear character was bad when doing simple things, like walking, but fine when fighting. The big spectacle scenes were amazing. Considering this movie only cost 5 million dollars, they were mind-blowing. I would very much like an "extended edition" or "directors cut" of this movie, with more dialogue between the characters, adding more depth to them.

This movie probably would've been better with a higher budget, less info dumps and a better translated script. That being said, the story is actually pretty interesting. Everything that a lot of people would call "stupid" or "incompetent" just makes this movie really enjoyable if you look at it as a comedy. This movie is really entertaining, but stupid. This review is s*** but you know what, so is the movie. I'd recommend this movie cause its funny.

When the trailer arrived some time ago, I quickly became very enthusiastic. Then later the ratings came in, and I decided not to bother with this movie at all anymore. Until now, and I've set my expectations to "low".As it turns out, it's not a good movie indeed, but it's also not nearly as bad as some of the ratings suggest. The CGI is actually quite decent, especially if you consider the apparent budget they had to work with. It's not always on par with any latest Hollywood/Marvel blockbuster, but it will blow anything else out of the water easily. The only real distracting factor for me was the rendering of the half man/half bear character. It just didn't work well and I feel if they just went "full bear" it would have been a lot better. The action sequences are mostly very well done. The acting was mostly average but a little wooden quite a few times. I think this has more to do with the directing of the movie, rather than the acting itself - it is often very cheesy.Story-wise, it's nothing special, which means it's exactly what most other movies in the same genre are as well. It works, and that's it. The characters are all likeable, and even when their powers itself are not always that unique (a guy with a sword is a guy with a sword), it still manages to bring some uniqueness to the table that felt quite refreshing, especially if you compare it to some of the latest Hollywood/Marvel movies. The thing that bothered me most, and what ultimately brought me to the low rating, is that the characters are not developed at all. You don't get to know anything about them, their motivations, their backgrounds. Each character is introduced in a short scene. These introductions are nicely made, but it's too short and it seems to be more of a vessel to show off something visually rather than to actually tell us something about the characters. In the end, all of the characters are just "there" on the screen, and so underdeveloped that you just can't care about them, even when the movie tries to make you care for them in the later parts of it.It all feels very rushed and with only 90 minutes of runtime, I feel an extra 30 or so minutes of character development would have helped the movie tremendously.5/10.

When I first saw the cover of this in the video store, I saw the picture of Ursus and the rest of them and I read on the back of the box that the guy who changes into a bear is called "Ursus". for just a moment I wondered if it was about the Russian Superhero which has been in the Marvel comic books for decades which also has a guy who transforms into a bear and is named "Mikhail Ursus". Personally I think it would be pretty cool to see a movie about some of those characters. If they can make the guardians of the galaxy so cool, they could surely make a good movie about those soviet superheroes. I read the cover and realized it was not the same group. Just has a character who looks the same with the same power and same name who also happened to work for the Russian government just like the character in the Marvel comic book. I was curious, so I took the movie home and watched it anyway. I'm not complaining about the special effects. There is no character development, the plot is flat, It seems to have been written and directed by 12 year olds. I could say that the acting was bad, but when I see a movie where every single actor is bad, I sometimes wonder if that's really the actor's fault or if they just had a terrible director. Maybe both? The dialogue is so terrible, that it ruins every scene. Any scene with dialogue becomes impossible to take seriously. At best, it's just something to laugh at.
