To watch this cinematic recount of Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy has been as great a privilege as reading the books. The seven hours or so of cinema are compelling and, as faithfully as they may, follow the stories with just the right atmosphere, characters, pace, and realism. Every flaw of every character is reproduced in the acting, and recalls your memory of what Larsson wrote. The central characters, Lisbeth Salander (Rapace) and Mikael Blomkvist (Nyqvist) are superbly cast and are supported by a very strong cast who pull out all the stops whichever side they are on. It is a beautifully photographed trilogy, with atmosphere in video and soundtrack fitting a script that keeps you in touch with what is going on in what is quite a complex storyline. And for a film of a trifle short of two and half hours it literally flies by, because, like all good stories, it keeps you hooked.Sweden makes some wonderful cinema and these films are up there with the best. Please watch all three movies just to observe how true craftspeople ply their trade.Highly recommended.

The actors did an amazing job. The movie was good but it lacked some substance. Michael's never ending persistence. His ending up with Ferguelo. The press hounding Lisbeth and publishing nasty articles about S&m,etc. Also I was expecting a better trial for Lisbeth. Its so riveting in the book. I wanted to see something similar. Lisbeth's quirk, Giannani's effective arguments about Lisbeth's alcohol, sex life and tattoos. Lisbeth's old guardian. Teleborian's disgusting egotistical evaluation. Lisbeth's assertiveness to get a conviction the same day and not wanting to swayback in the country for evaluations after the trial. The judge asserting the logic of being legally competent. But in the movie it was very laid back and slow. Disappointing.

final part of series, it is a basket with answers after the first parts questions. in same measure, it is a good political movie, far to classic recipes but really convincing to discover the novel. it is almost unrealistic in many scenes but it has the rare gift to seduce and to have the force to give inspired skin to a remarkable story. Noomi Rapace use each possibility of her role and the crisis of Millennium team is presented in inspired manner. in same measure, it is a film about Sweden system and that makes the difference by American crime genre. because, far to be only an adaptation, it represents a portrait of a country. and this fact is real significant - the rules, the democratic lines and limits, the role of silence and the justice , the force of civil society. a beautiful series. and , maybe, the most inspired form to adapted a success book.

While this final act isn't really necessary in "The Girl..." Trilogy (aka The Millennium Trilogy), it brings all the loose ends together and makes everything all nice and taken care of. Frankly I found some of it hard to follow (a lot of 'who is this guy again?'), but it was nice to see elements from the first film finally come to fruition here. As with the previous installment in the series, the direction was fairly bland here, not really using any techniques to heighten the suspense (or really lack there of) or connect the audience with the characters. I can only remember seeing one dolly/zoom that attempted to emphasize the emotions of a character and accent an important detail. On top of that, there are many elements of the story that felt unnecessary. For example, Neidermann's character felt completely irrelevant in this film. The story here would have been tighter without that element because his plot isn't related at all to what is happening (and after the main story has been resolved, the movie goes on another 30 minutes just to take care of his character). But seeing this is trying to follow the book and wrap up all various elements, I guess it can't be left out. As it is, for fan's of the series, TGWKtHN is a mediocre addition to the saga of Lizabeth. For all others, this isn't a 'must see.'
