The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

Disney knows how to entertain its public and this can be seen in this short movie. We are told the story of a man and his puppy who live together in peace and harmony. Until an unforeseen event occurs, the puppy becomes a little bit upset, but discovers soon how to handle the situation and restore the atmosphere that was once in the house. Oh, I love happy endings.

This is a six-minuted animated short film by Disney that won an Academy Award earlier this year. It was made by a trio of filmmakers who already worked on previous pretty famous projects such as "Tangled", "The Simpsons", "Winnie the Pooh", Wreck-it Ralph", "Frozen" and "Bolt". The main character here is a little dog living on the street. He gets taken by a stranger and from that moment on the two are very close. One reason is that the dog always gets all kinds of fast food and unhealthy, yet so delicious food. This changes when the guy meets a woman as it seems she prefers her man to eat healthy. However, as soon as she is gone, he eats unhealthy again and do does his dog, who is really happy to get something other than vegetables. One day, they split and the dog is really really happy again as he always gets to eat what he wants. But his master is unhappy as he suffers from the breakup. So the dog selflessly finds a girlfriend for his master, even if it means he has to eat these disgusting vegetables again. However, as soon as the guy and his girlfriend get a kid, spaghetti's back on the menu, also for the dog a happy ending.I have to say, this was a good short film. Entertaining and nicely animated, even if it does not reach the emotional heights of "Paperman", Disney's previous winner in the category. So I am not sure if I would say that "Feast" is the best animated short film of 2014 for me. I am still to see a couple other short films, including the other nominees. Yet certainly worth a watch, especially for dog owners.

Not only that, but I actually preferred it to the film it accompanied Big Hero 6, though that was still a very good film and one of Disney's better films since the Renaissance. As a big fan of Disney, other than ending ever so slightly predictably Feast was an absolute treat, dealing with its mature subject simply and maturely. It's beautifully animated for a start, style-wise it's clever with its mix of hand-drawn and computer animation, it's beautifully drawn and modelled and the colours are vibrant and vivid. The music has energy and sweet charm, which is fitting with the tone of the story. It's simply but charmingly written with plenty of amusement and heart, likable in characterisation with sweet characters, without being mawkish, and voiced with enthusiasm but the star here is the story. The story is short and simple, but told in a cute, touching and heart-warming way with some nice humour thrown into the mix, was impressed with how much it packed in in a short running time and as said already how it dealt its subject matter with such mature simplicity and not at all shallowly or overdone in sentimentality. All in all, I found Feast to be a beautiful short and it deserved its Academy Award/Oscar win. 9/10 Bethany Cox

I just seen this now and I thought it was really cute. Its about a stray dog who is rescued by a man who later finds love with a waitress and of course they break up and they get back together again. Both the guy and the dog have one thing in common. They love to eat fast food stuff like meatballs, pizzas you name it.Overall it was a cute short from Disney and if you haven't seen it check it out for yourselves. A true Oscar winner since Paperman and Get A Horse. Just to let you know that the short is shown before Big Hero 6 so if you haven't seen it like I said be sure and don't miss it. Winner of an Oscar and 2 other awards Feast is truly a great animated short mixing hand drawn and CGI together.7/10
