Hoodwinked!
Little Red Riding Hood: A classic story, but there's more to every tale than meets the eye. Before you judge a book by its cover, you've got to flip through the pages. In the re-telling of this classic fable, the story begins at the end of the tale and winds its way back. Chief Grizzly and Detective Bill Stork investigate a domestic disturbance at Granny's cottage, involving a karate-kicking Red Riding Hood, a sarcastic wolf and an oafish Woodsman.

Thanks for the memories!
The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Animation - The overall look of this movie is pretty horrible. The settings and the character models are all hideously bad. Plot - The overarching story is pretty dumb. This movie is very comedy-based. Few things make sense and there is a lot of stupid. If you're willing to put up with the nonsense, this movie is really funny and entertaining. The ending is terrible, and when I watch this movie I rarely wait around for it. There isn't a lot to say about this movie. Its clever and funny with terrible animation and a bad plot. I'd recommend this, but be warned for every clever joke, there is some stupid.
Today was one of those hot days in which all outdoor activities besides swimming would be uncomfortable. So, it was a time to lounge in front of the fan and have a movie marathon. Of course that movie marathon included my seven-year-old so the movie selection is limited.I saw the title Hoodwinked! and something registered in the back of my brain. It was much like seeing a familiar face from your past but you can't quite place it. I knew the title sounded and looked familiar but I didn't know why. Did I have intentions of watching this before or was this on my "do not watch list"? Without knowing exactly why I proceeded to play the movie. I played the movie based off of that small inclination and was I ever glad I did. This movie is clever and hilarious. The animation would lead you to believe that it is perhaps for 5 year-olds and younger but the writing and the humor definitely belies that.It is clear that the movie is a witty take on the Little Red Riding Hood story. All the recipes throughout the forest are being stolen thereby driving the creatures of the forest out of business. The police have four suspects in custody: Red Puckett (Anne Hathaway), Grandma (Glenn Close), the Wolf (Patrick Warburton), and Kirk the Woodsman (Jim Belushi). Each has their own story as to why they've curiously come together at Granny's house in very peculiar fashions. This movie had a brilliant story, great writing with some hilarious scenes. I thought the lines were great and were delivered expertly. I just saw that there is a Hoodwinked Too. I must find that movie now.
Hoodwinked (2005): Dir: Cory Edwards / Voices: Anne Hathaway, Patrick Warburton, Jim Belushi, Glenn Close, Cory Edwards: Absolutely hilarious computer animated satire about fairy tales. We have all heard this story at some point in our childhood but chances are that we never heard it told quite like this. Little Red Riding Hood cycles to Granny's house delivering goodies. Once there she is confronted with the big bad wolf and that is where the plot takes an unexpected turn from the traditional story. Red, Granny, the woodsman, and the wolf are all arrested and taken into custody where their versions of the story are revealed. What director Cory Edwards does is double standards all these characters that result in hilarious storytelling that sidelines repetition with surprise. Anne Hathaway voices Red who knows martial arts and is out to solve the case at hand. Patrick Warburton steals scenes as the wolf who claims to be an undercover journalist. Jim Belushi voices the woodsman who dreams of being a stage actor. Glenn Close voices Granny who is a secret daredevil. Their stories parallel but not without surprise. Cory Edwards provides the high sped voice of Twitchy the squirrel, the wolf's photographer sidekick. Colorful and extremely funny reworking of the classic fairy tale that completely overturns our expectations on the roles these characters traditionally played. Score: 9 / 10
I'm starting to become a big fan of computer-generated animated films. I often wonder what Walt Disney might have done had he had the technology in his day or of he had lived long enough to see it. Several of them are wonderful, from "The Polar Express" to "Rapunzel" and "Hotel Transylvania," but every once in a while something like "Hoodwinked" comes along. First off, the animation is crude; it looks like the second to last process in the computer animation process, but the plot, the script, the humor and the voice-over actors are excellent. I loved it from the mountain goat, Japeth, who sings bluegrass down the mountainside to Red Riding Hood kicking ass to the psycho bunny rabbit with delusions of grandeur. Patrick Warburton really carries the film as the voice of the Wolf, and Ann Hathaway as Red Riding Hood is a delight. The only thing I don't like are the slighted bonus features on the DVD. A little bit more footage of the actors doing the voice work would have been nice.
