I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Absolutely Fantastic
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Deliverance is an excellent outdoor thriller about survival directed by John Boorman, of which is one of my favorite of his work (along with Excalibur). This film has a great ensemble cast of fantastic actors that includes Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty and Ronny Cox. The film has these dudes going on a canoeing/camping trip in the soon to extinct Cahulawassee River, intact before it gets expanded and turns into a lake. However, these "city boys" did not make a good impression with the locals, in which provokes an unpleasant confrontation between our main characters and backwoods hillbillies. One of which is played by Bill Mc Kinney who is an excellent villan and also will go on to play as Captain "Red legs" in one of my favorite westerns The Outlaw Josey Wales. The outdoor locations are photographed beautifully and the film is tense, violent and handled in a very realistic and gritty manner. Acting performances are second to none, Burt Reynolds in paticular was awesome. He is criminally underated as a actor, as much as I like Smokey And The Bandit, he should have made less movies like that and more movies like Deliverance. Anyways, Deliverance is an excellent film, that all the way around is very engrossing as a story and very powerful and well made.
What can you say about john Boorman 's 1972 classic that hasn't already been said ? A masterful effort by the director , cinematography and a cast that was perfect on all levels . You will squeal along with the 4 city dwelling men as they take on the wild rapids and the rabid inbred hicks that the river produces . Burt Reynolds is the alpha male in his most iconic role , Jon voight as the Everyman who uses a horrible situation to show what he's made of , Ned Beatty who I'm sure will never want to film on a canoe again and also Ronny cox as the kind banjo playing one of the group . The river is really the unheralded character of this great picture. A film from a time when films didn't rely on Cgi , explosions or car chases . A true classic of cinema .
Deliverance is one of those movies that makes you think twice before taking your next camping trip. What starts out as good old fashioned fun among friends, turns into a nightmare.Strong performances(3 Golden Globe Nominations) from all involved adds an element of realism to a script that already holds it's own weight. The fluid direction from legendary John Boorman moves the story along at a manageable pace, adding suspense at the perfect moments. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, or trembling in fear as the four friends battle their morals as they desperately fight for their lives. It is considered a classic by many and for very good reason. It is real, dark, dramatic, suspenseful, all interwoven into a story about friendship and their fight for survival in the wilderness. If you are looking for a must see movie before you die, this will definitely deliver.8.5/10
As I understand it - (According to those elite, high'n'mighty "snobs-of-cinema") - Deliverance ranks right up there as being a true treasure of American film-making from the early 1970's.And, if one does dare to speak out disrespectfully of this much-lauded cinematic treasure they are automatically labelled by those "snobs" as being an oaf and a despicable heathen for doing so.With all of the macho-man "ball-scratching" that takes place in this ultimate "buddy" picture (especially from the likes of Burt Reynolds) - I guess that I can (sort of) understand why this film is so highly praised and endlessly revered (even to this very day, nearly 50 years later). But, if you ask me - Deliverance has got to be yet another one of those utterly inferior, puzzling, and over-rated pictures that is repeatedly defended to the death by those "self-righteous snobs" who still choose to view it through the guise of rose-coloured glasses.
