Repo Men
In the future, medical technology has advanced to the point where people can buy artificial organs to extend their lives. But if they default on payments, an organization known as the Union sends agents to repossess the organs. Remy is one of the best agents in the business, but when he becomes the recipient of an artificial heart, he finds himself in the same dire straits as his many victims.

Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!

Remember that horror/musical "Repo: The genetic opera"? No? Well apparently the makers of this movie did. Cause its a major rip off of the afore mentioned movie, except without the amusement or the singing. A "repo man" who's job it is to reposses the replacement organs of patients who fall behind on their payments begins to question his job.
REVOLTING AND DISGUSTING! DISGUSTIN AND REVOLTING!
In the not too distant future medical technology has improved to the point where failing organs can be replaced by artificial ones at a price. Of course there are finance plans for people who can't afford to buy them outright but if you drop behind on your payments your organs will be repossessed. This is where the repo men come in. Remy is one such repo man; he is good at his job but his wife is pressuring him to switch to the sales department. He says he will consider it but soon afterwards has an accident at work; when he wakes up he learns that he has had to have a new heart installed. Now he sympathises with those who can't pay and can no longer bring himself to do his job. His time to repay for his heart is rapidly running out so he goes on the run along with Beth, a singer. He is pursued by other repo men including his erstwhile partner, Jake. This is a solid film with plenty of action, some of which is fairly gruelling but not half as gruelling as seeing the repossession work where the artificial organs are cut out. The story is told at a good pace without being rushed it is quite a while before Remy goes on the run as time is spent introducing the viewer to the situation rather than just telling us. The basic plot reminded me of the '70s Sci-fi classic 'Logan's Run'; however it could have been a coincidence as there were a fair few major differences. The cast does a solid job with Jude Law, Forrest Whitaker and Alice Braga impressing as Remy, Jake and Beth. The rest of the cast are pretty good too. As the film approaches its conclusion the action is ramped up and we get a fight in a corridor that is almost on a par with that in 'Old Boy'. Over all I'd recommend this to anybody looking for an action film and isn't put off by some fairly gruesome moments.
After the first 40 minutes or so, I wasn't sure if I liked this or not. I could see that the movie wasn't too ambitious, and seemed to shoehorn some elements (family problems, love interests etc.) that we just apparently have to have in every movie. But, it did get better towards the end. I can appreciate some aspects in this film, even though it does lack certain qualities."Repo Men" reminds me of many movies based on Philip K. Dick's stories. It isn't one, but it damn well could be. There are themes that are familiar from "Minority Report", "Impostor", "Equilibrium" and even to some extent "Total Recall". All those films are clearly above this one, but I'd say this is worth seeing at least once. The main flaw with this movie is that it doesn't always seem to know what it is and what it wants to make us feel. We do get basically everything: characters, drama, action, explicit non-PG13 violence, humor, sci-fi, a catchphrase and even a little twist - but it lacks a certain focus and some opportunities are lost, thus taking away from the impact. These tonal changes don't always work. Add a soundtrack that's sometimes very good and other times the exact opposite, and you get a movie that tries too hard for what it is, leaving many people disappointed.Jude Law does a decent enough job, and Forest Whitaker is always fun to watch, even though he's hamming it up a bit sometimes (not necessarily a bad thing). Liev Schreiber is entertaining as the face of the corporation.Think of it as a B-movie along the lines of "Impostor", that would be my advice. As such, it is entertaining and does it's job, and can possibly surprise some people in a positive way. There's no 100M dollar CGI budget either, so it's easier to digest this way. The sci-fi elements are certainly not hard sci-fi, so take it as it is. A simple adequate movie that often misses the mark, but never by a mile. If you have nothing to do on a rainy day, might as well see this - it's definitely not a disaster. I don't regret getting the blu-ray at a discount. Probably won't watch it again, but no regrets nonetheless.
