Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

According to the credits, this underwhelming motion picture was written by four people, based on an original idea by two other people and with additional dialog supplied by yet two more different people. After watching I Want Candy, I completely believe that 8 separate brains went into creating this story. Unfortunately, writing is a lot like sex. If more than 3 people are involved it just turns into one big clusterf**k. This movie should be a reminder to all filmmakers that if you're signing checks for more than 3 writers, you should walk away from the project and find something better to do.This tale of a couple of British film students (Tom Riley and Tom Burke) who finagle their way into making a porn film with a famous adult actress (Carmen Electra) as their last gasp at living out their dreams of cinema glory is uneven, unbalanced and a thin as North Korean toilet paper. It has two main characters when it really only needs one. It has 3 villains when it really only needs one. It recycles some of the oldest and most played out jokes you can imagine. Even though it's about making a porno, it has a thoroughly PG tone except for two definitely R scenes - one involving ping pong balls out of a vagina and the other about a man's explosively premature ejaculation flying across the room and hitting another man in the face like an angry milk shake. One of the film students is the focus of pretty much the first 70 minutes of the movie, then the other guy is suddenly treated like he's the important one.I could go on and on with this thing. I Want Candy is so obviously the result of a bunch of people contributing random bits of dialog and plot that there's no way it could ever be mistaken as the product of a single creative impulse. With so many writers involved in the script, there was no one person responsible for making sure the most basic things were covered…like characters the audience cares about, conflicts they can believe and things actually making sense. I mean, this thing would have its audience believe that two 20something dudes who want to be in show business have never seen a porno before. Really?I Want Candy isn't as atrocious as some of the vile refuse I've witnessed. The cast can all act, the director appears to know what he's doing and the whole mess is understandable, if nothing else. But this is a comedy that is not funny. How could it be? The characters' personalities change based on whichever of the 8 writers involved penned a particular scene or line and there's not an ounce of reality to anything they do or any challenge they face.Maybe if just one of the 8 writers paid for this thing had been given the job of doing the whole screenplay him- or herself, they might have some up with something worthwhile. None of them were, so they didn't. Trust me, you don't want to see I Want Candy.

I Want Candy Oh dear. The best comment I can make about this film is it is watchable at best. Its basically about two film students who get cajoled into making a porn film featuring the industries leading lady, Miss Candy Fiveways.Everything bout this film is basic. It's a story I've kinda seen before, and done marginally better in the Girl Next Door, the actors look like they are on auto pilot, its not very funny, there is no hidden depths and not even any nudity! Carmen Electra stars as Candy Fiveways, which must have been a real stretch of her acting talents. About as big a stretch as last time I saw her on film, which was bouncing up and down wearing lingerie in Scary Movie. Two annoying British Actors who I have never heard of before, and particularly never wish to again, gurn up the screen on every occasion as the two best friends, Jimmy Carr plays himself as an annoying Video Shop host, and Zoe Slater from Eastenders pops up as the token love interest. Im not even going to comment on MacKenzie Crook.Like I said, it's watchable at best. But please try to avoid.

I gave an 10 to this film because it really deserve a good score. Not because it's a spectacular film, or a 5* special effects blockbuster, but because it's a simple and effective movie that give us good effortless laughs. If the name Carmen Elektra had produced some "noise" around it, after seeing the "job" done, we can judge by ourselves that her prestige were the less important in the script himself. Is truth that her "beauty" borrowed to the action the real feeling, but the film were much more than that. Very good performance of the main characters seconded by senior others. It's a very good choice to see it at night after a boring working day.I really enjoyed and it's a must see!

Two film students head to London with their script which they believe will be the first step to Hollywood, they hook up with a dodgy film producer who agrees to finance the film, provided they can get porns hottest star Candy Fiveways (Carmen Electra).I Want Candy' it must be said is quite a sweet and charming film in a 'The Full Monty' kind of way, sadly though unlike that film, the laughs are few and far between it must be said, I think I went a full hour before a proper laugh, a very amusing scene that all I shall say "required wet wipes"! The only selling point this film would seem to have is the chance for men to see Carmen Elektra in various sexy outfits and states of undress, something I'm sure you could see say in a Playboy DVD, if she has one that is, not that'd I'd know about that sort of thing! Lightweight fluff all in all with a serious lack of laughs I'm afraid.5/10
