As Good As It Gets

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Not often is a horror trilogy wrapped quite as well as The Lost Boys films. A well-developed continuous storyline throughout multiple films is sometimes all that's needed to become something great. It's refreshing to see characters face adversity through time rather than a typical cliché slasher sequel with no end goal or relativity. It's hard not to have a soft spot for The Thirst, the film having played tremendous homage to the late Corey Haim. Flashback scenes with Haim are reminisced, as Corey Feldman's character, Edgar Frog, sees the end of his long battle with vampires about to end.Contrary to many poor opinions by Lost Boys fans or horror fans, The Thirst never did have a dull moment. A wealth of newly introduced characters were interesting and well-developed, all led by Corey Feldman, who finally was the primary character. It was fun to see Edgar Frog's dismissive personality throughout the entire film. His dialogue was great having some throwback and memorable lines. Writing however, was a key issue, the ending fell flat apart needing a stronger head-vampire. Among the head-vampire were other problematic scenes towards and at the dreck of an ending. The Tribe and The Thirst tend to be pretty polarizing, nobody thinking saying there spectacular, but a little more credit should be given, since they're both highly entertaining.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha OK after the laughable appraise given to this movie I have to agree with one thing. Its good for laughs, if you're that desperate.Is is a true sequel? no way, nfw! Its a self parody at best. Lost boys are dead and like a vampire this movie concept has risen from the dead in horrific form to scare the living daylights out of anyone whom enjoyed the first.The whole movie is a dollar sign for the sake of making some cash. There is no real sense of menace from the original movie what so ever, its completely gone with the whole story line swirling around the plughole like a real stinker does.Don't bother with this movie, you could die from cringing just watching it it IS that bad.

I have to be honest, I didn't expect too much from the Thirst. Not only did the Thirst satisfy my Lost Boy needs it surpassed them. The Thirst moves quickly and fast and is full of action. The Frog Brothers are a huge part of the movie unlike the Tribe, Feldman and Newlander do a great job of taking me all the way back to my childhood and when I loved the Frog Brothers. The supporting cast is OK, there isn't really a David type of character that steals the show. However, what the writer/director and producer's do well here is listen to the fans wants and needs. We asked for more Feldman and Newlander, the Thirst has loads of that. Definitely worth a buy here! Good action, good special effects and feels like a big budget movie.

I can't believe I am saying this, but this film was much better than "The Tribe". Cory Feldman and Jamison Newlander come back for their roles as Edgar and Alan Frog. Well Feldman kind of had to. The story was not too bad and surprisingly the acting was not too bad. There were a couple characters were who pretty horrible in the film, but luckily the movie wasn't really focusing on them. The film kept its cool vampire feel and did manage to keep both versions of "Cry Little Sister" in the film as well. This movie is basically trying to end the Lost Boys movies. The reason is because the alpha or head vampire is in the film. If Corey Feldman can stop him, then it is over and anyone who was turned by a vampire under him, will be cured. This goes for Alan Frog was was turned in the story line of the other two movies. The movie stayed more with the first film and acted like the second one wasn't even made. Plus Corey Haim's character was mentioned in the film as well to help remember him. Now the first movie was made in the late 80s so the music was focused around that. The second was focused more on a death metal feel. This one was electronic dance music; which makes sense I guess for 2010. I have always liked the style of vampires in the Lost Boys and even though the movie wasn't the best, it was still nice to see them again.
