The Worst Film Ever
One of my all time favorites.
It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.
Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
As I may have mentioned already, I own this film alongside the original and 'Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True.' This is one Disney sequel I had forgotten about until fairly recently and like the second film, the Nostalgia Chick, who finds this the most tolerable out of all Disney sequels, prompted me to watch this.The film opens with a song that I found surprising because when I heard it in the Nostalgia Chick's 'Top 5 Least Awful Disney Sequels,' I thought it was just Cinderella and the Prince's song while I thought Anastasia and Drizella's part they sing as they wash the dishes (which I saw as a separate clip on YouTube) was a totally separate song altogether, whereas they were singing the complete opposite to Cinderella's part - likewise with Anastasia's solo part where she sings about someone who loves her being nearby. While the beginning of the main plot appears to be using recycled animation from the first film (for example Cinderella being locked in the room), it still makes sense to some extent. Like the second film, the pace is consistent with fluid and colourful animation for a direct-to-video/DVD release. As well as the pace and animation, the best aspects of this film were Anastasia and Drizella getting more screen time in this film than its predecessor, Jaq and Gus's hilarious re- enactment of Lady Tremaine stealing the Fairy Godmother's wand to undo Cinderella's spell, Anastasia turning into a Cinderella clone towards the end and Lucifer turning into a convincing human during the climax. I also found the Prince calling Cinderella 'Cinderelly' rather comical since he picked it up from the mice. The downsides of this film include the songs apart from the opening number being forgettable and Anastasia wanting to marry the Prince since she found love in 'Dreams Come True.' I even thought that if Anastasia had wanted to marry the Prince in the second film, then it would have made sense for her to fall for the baker in this film as a second chance.All in all, this film is slightly better than 'Dreams Come True' and just as good as the original. 8/10.
When Disney decided to close Disney Australia, Cinderella III was in its pipeline. This fired up the production crew to put extra effort into this particular sequel, $6 million to make and Disney Australia's final film. The result's a worthy addition to the Disney Cinderella universe, giving the central characters more dimensions and interactions. The Prince, King, Stepmother and Stepsisters all expand their thoughts and feelings (we learn how the King felt for his departed Queen, etc.). The mice have fun moments including their whacky takeoff of "disfunctional theater" as they explain to the Prince key plot points, and once again prove heros as they scamper about the Nightmare Pumpkin taking Cinderella to her possible demise. Cinderella, often perceived as weak because of her 50's heritage, becomes more pro-active and almost an action-hero in the film's closing moments. Animation ranges from TV to feature quality, with faithful color timing, solid music and good voice talents topping things off.
First let me say, that I usually don't like sequels (Aladdin sequels - Lion King Sequels - Ugh!). Few of them come close to the standard of their original. Disney's "Cinderella III: A Twist In Time" is an exception.The story is very well crafted including homage to just about everything from the first. "Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True" (which was a typical quickie sequel - a total waste of time dud) is appropriately never mentioned. The voices are well cast and the animation is movie quality - not a TV show rehash like the extremely disappointing "Princess Tales videos" (shame! shame!) Granted, my child is three and she doesn't know the difference between the bad quality and good quality stuff - but I do and Daddy has to watch these over and over again with his little princess.Without giving away too much, some complain that the evil pumpkin coach scene in this one is a little bit on the scary side. Though my child (again, she's 3) was a bit scared at first, she was excited by it, and Cinderella's comment at the end of the scene made both she and I laugh out loud together. Now she watches that scene again and again.Especially fine performances by the deliciously wicked stepmother, Lady Tremaine and her daughters Drusilla and Anastasia. The opening song is hysterical when it gets them and Drusilla's every sarcastic remark still makes me smile ("A stick... let's beat her with it." / "Oh... I wonder if it fits?"). The music is very good in this one as well.My only disappointment is that they axed the other mouse characters besides Jaq and Gus an Bruno is also missing.But for the money, it is an excellent ride.
guy's can i ask a question?,, i can't get this question out of my head since i heard the statement of Cinderella(last part)that goes this way: "And they lived happily ever after again??",, duh!!! isn't it that ever after means 'Forever??' Disney shouldn't have stated during the last part of Cinderella I that they lived happily ever after because what happened in Cinderella III is not a happy part for the Prince and Cinderella.,, can't Disney make other stories to HIGHLIGHT the character of the prince if that's what they are up to., I agree also in the "goofs" posted in wikipedia.org that At the first movie, the king saw Cinderella before he got out, and obviously the Grand Duke, but neither, even when they're not in magic, don't they recognize that Anastasia is not Cinderella."What makes the least sense is that the king even made a face at Anastasia at the ball.,, oh, that not the topic in here anyways, just got carried away because of disappointment......the statement "Lived happily ever after again doesn't make sense for me.. anyways,, the movie is good but not as good as Cinderella I and worse than Cinderella II..,}
