if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

I saw this back when it first came out with my moms ex and from the first 5 min two the last 5 mins you get nothing but silly action a love story emotion and a great adventure ride now yes this does kinda preach global warming but who cares its there to make a good premise for whats going on and why everything is freezing ect now... this had somewhat of an original story with a son getting trapped in Manhattan and his father going out to rescue him i liked it because despite not having a dad i always wondered what it would be like if i was that kid... which for some reason is my mom ex didnt like and ended up walking out not even an hour into it now with a cast of Jake Gyllenhaal Emmy Rossum Sela ward and Denis Quaid they all played there parts extremely well and the Cgi they used to me still stands out today amonset the best so to all the haters out there quit preying on the great movies dont't watch it if your going to rip it a new one

Among the vast quantities of disaster movies USA made, this one is another failure !! The theme of ice age should go on other directions (philosophical, ethical, moral, etc) but the makers of the present movie selected the same bad formulas found in so many disaster movies...Just an example, that I really hate in American movies: in the middle of the worst situation we hear love declarations of the characters: "I want you to know I love you, Jack and Jack replies me too..." such a nonsense sounds like an old formula to make us cry or at least to sorrow the characters....The only good stuff are the visual effects, but for it we don't need a screenplay with false drama !!! Two stars is the most that I can give to such a piece of melodrama.

* May be some spoilers here *Honestly, I don't think this movie was THAT bad. I even think that the scenes in the movie could happen in real life, because ice in the North is really melting. I mean, yeah, there were some scenes which didn't work out very well, the second hour was really different from the first one, but still... I like movies like this, and even with those little not so great scenes, I'm accepting it, as it is. Honestly, people, is there any movie that you don't hate?

The difference is simple : the first tells apocalypse through President, agencies, military so with boring characters that we don't give a S..t about while the second tells the same story trough an ordinary family. Well, i would say that this one begins like the first and finishes like the second. More accurately, i watched everything at the start but after 30 minutes of this dreadful politician and experts talks, i skip all the institutional, governmental scenes and the movie had more punch then, at least during the coming of the storm in NYC and what happens to Emmy and friends inside the library. Indeed the plot is totally unbelievable (twister, tornadoes, blizzard coming by surprise), the characters are pretty lame (a bum with his dog, a nerd, a ill child, etc..). In fact, sometimes i had the feeling to watch ID4 again, aliens switched for climate. Anyway the mission of Quaid to save his son is just a white cold trip with incoherence (coming from Miss Liberty ?). Except the good acting from Emmy and her boyfriend and some stunning visuals, there is not really much beyond.
