Hugo
Orphaned and alone except for an uncle, Hugo Cabret lives in the walls of a train station in 1930s Paris. Hugo's job is to oil and maintain the station's clocks, but to him, his more important task is to protect a broken automaton and notebook left to him by his late father. Accompanied by the goddaughter of an embittered toy merchant, Hugo embarks on a quest to solve the mystery of the automaton and find a place he can call home.

It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.
if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Promises much, delivers nothing. If there was a story to be told then this screenplay does not tell it. Terrible script, bad casting, an over-produced turd - AVOID!
MORE REVIEWS AT booksequalhappiness.blogspot.comI found this movie quite interesting but I did not expect things to go there. I thought it would lead to a magical adventure and not some journey on the past and history. It also had quite a slow pacing. Still, I enjoyed it. It had a beautiful cinematography and it made me feel a lot of things for the characters. It also had a wonderful cast. So many famous actors and Harry Potter cast. I was shocked.
I am a cinephile and so is Martin Scorsese. This is his love letter to film. Movies must love him back for this! If someone asked me why I love movies so much I would tell them to watch this! Martin also made this because his wife wanted him to make a movie their daughter could see! I wish he made more movies like this and not The Wolf of Wall Street-that was sick! I watched this with a friend and we saw some Melies films on YouTube-they're not great by today's standards but today's films would not exist without them! I highly recommend both Hugo and Melies movies like A Trip To The Moon!
This is a pretty good movie. The story is entertaining and the child actors are pretty good. There is some stupid in this movie, but not too much. I'd kinda recommend it. Its not great, but still fun.
