Absolutely Fantastic
This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
Fantastic plot, really makes you feel for the characters and root for something finally going right for them. Shows the pain of these people going through rough situations doing what they can to prevail even when society doesn't do anything to help them.
Besides a couple things that do feel inaccurate like the nonchalance of the main drug dealer the movie is worth a watch. But it's those little things that doesn't make Sleight a great movie. If a drug dealer would act like that he would be caught the same day. But other than that the story is entertaining. Jacob Latimore did a good job with his performance. The tricks are maybe a bit over the top, certainly at the end, but I guess it's fine being a fictional story. I don't really like magic anyways, unless you explain me the trick afterwards. But I'm not saying it's the best movie ever in this genre. But certainly better than all those negative reviewers wants to make you believe.
This could have been acceptable if it would have been marketed as such. But no, they went and made a trailer that looked like a sci-fi and had the audacity to quote "Chronicle meets Iron Man" in it. Seriously?Take the standard good boy caught in a bad situation with a mobster and waste two thirds of the movie with it. Then end it with a few scenes where he uses an impossible device that he created because he is black, smart and his teacher helped him. That's the whole film. Black people, drugs, poor neighborhoods and abused youngsters fill up the rest.So don't listen to the hype. It's consciously generated to make you believe this is something that it's not. And putting aside the *sleight* I was talking about above, it's just a sub-average movie.
Can someone tell me what she see at the end? I don't understand this very bad ending, really bad end. I don't understand someone can answer me? Thanks. Can someone tell me what she see at the end?
