Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Never a dull moment while the Wolfpack is over in Thailand- not Vegas. The insanity has gone international this time. Was a tad surprised to not see higher ratings here on IMDb- this is clearly the best out of the 3 Hangover movies. It does help if you have seen the first one or you will be a tad lost So if you haven't seen the Hangover (The first one) then watch it before you see this one. All of the original cast from the first one returns for this sequel. But fair warning; they don't hold back on ANYTHING! This one pushes it to the limit, which is part of what makes it so great. Not for the easily offended- nothing is sacred in this one. Down right raunchy at times but full of laughs and many surprises from beginning to end.
'Hangover Part II', is an American offering, which probably cost a small fortune to make and also did amazingly well at the box office. I had no excuse for watching it, as every single review panned it mercilessly; and well should they have done. I had previously seen Hangover 1, which although fairly banal, did contain some good, original humour and was well acted by the main protagonists. As those who have read about Hangover II or, like me, have had the misfortune to watch it will know, the sequel simply uses all the gags from the first movie. It transplants them to some kind of crazy, make- believe Asian state, occasionally referred to as Thailand, (although the local people are referred to as 'Asiatics' not Thai), but which bears no resemblance to any country that I have ever had the misfortune to live in.Not that this would matter if the film was entertaining; but it isn't. It is total, unadulterated crap without a single redeeming feature.Quite possibly one of the worst films I have ever seen.
The Hangover Part II is a sequel to the 2009 blockbuster hit The Hangover and the second film in The Hangover franchise. This time around,it tells the story of Phil,Stu,Alan and Doug when they travel to Thailand for Stu's wedding.Just like Doug,Stu throws his own bachelor party before the wedding. But things do not go as planned and the group once again find themselves having no memories of the events of the previous night the following day.The movie stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Ken Jeong, Jeffrey Tambor, Justin Bartha and Paul Giamatti. The screenplay was co- written and directed by Todd Philips just like the first film.Overall, the movie is visually dazzling,well-shot and obviously richer in personalities and characters.Unfortunately,it wasn't clever, refreshing and funny compared to the first film.It was practically almost the same too as the first film as the only difference happens to be that the bachelor party and the group who are at a lot are in Bangkok instead of Last Vegas. Despite the fact that it has a talented cast,it does not deliver enough laughter and humor to hold a candle to the first Hangover film.
In 2009, The Hangover shocked me by being spectacular and being one of my favourite comedies ever. 2011 saw its sequel which people thought would surpass the first. I knew it would not. With low expectations like the first, I was very impressed. I wouldn't say this is better than the first at all, but I will say it is a nice confident. The guys are back and the danger is higher.Stu (Helms) is about to get married in Thailand, his fiancée's native land. Ready to have a nice, regular time with his best friends, (Cooper, Galifinakis, Bartha) and soon to be brother in law, Teddy, Alan takes a dislike to Teddy and sets off a string dangerous encounters, leaving him and his friends with no memory and Teddy missing. Lost in a much bigger city with bigger crimes, Stu's wedding becomes more jeopardized than Doug's.The first flaw I found was the scenes with frontal male nudity. I also didn't see why Justin Bartha had little screen time in this one too. Right before anything bad happens, he leaves the area to be with his wife who is sick and the family. Bartha was involved in Broadway plays, so I understand why they used less of him, but there's lots of people on Broadway and other things that still do full movies. The last flaw was how recycled everything was. Since the stuff used was very funny, I didn't mind. But that kept me from finding this better. There may be more danger, but it revolves around the same things. One thing I did like was Teddy's whereabouts. It is a more complex and less predicable place than Doug's in the first.
