If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
It was kind of a road movie, but it all had ended sooner than the rest of the story come into effect. The story of a runaway bride. She hits the road with her troubled little sister. They decide to go to the place where they grew up together. Along the way, they encounter a few things. Like doing some mischievous things, shopping, et cetera. When they reach their destination, they try to make the most of it like nothing had happened. But it always keeps haunting them, which leads to quarrels between them. So what happens later, how their unplanned trip ends were revealed in the remaining parts. It was so simple. But there's nothing new. The cast, especially the two sisters makes it looks decent. Personally, I liked the little one. I thought it was predictable, and in the most cases it was, but there were some unexpected new developments happened. Particularly the new romance. After all it was not a bad film. But if you think so, then it's just you are not the audience they aimed for. Maybe if I was a woman, I could have liked it better. I've enjoyed watching it, but in the end, I felt it was an average film. I hope the film finds its audience, one of them could be you. So choose it wisely.6/10
I wasn't sure what to expect but the star studded cast made me intrigued. I loved this movie! It is a great story with female leads and they do a great job of carrying the story. Shelly Long adds to the story and still has what it takes. The directing was particularly good. You felt as if you were a part of the story and it really captured the what was happening and allowed the audience to be a part of it. I particularly enjoyed some of the small town scenes. It reminded me of Americana and it captured that vibe perfectly. This is a good film and you should see it. It is worth your time.
I enjoyed this movie. It takes place in the heartland complete with farms, chickens, country roads and great characters. I was amazed how the story about two sisters finding friendship again with the help of Shelley Long, their grandmother, was so well done. The movie is a fun story that will capture you from the start and the cinematography and beautiful settings really add to each scene. I thought all the actors were allowed to give it their all in this movie from the main characters, Hope Lauren and Emma Bell, to the smaller roles including parts by Shelley Long, yes the famous Ms. Long from Cheers, and Sterling Knight from my Disney days. I really liked the story of this movie as it was not your classic film with female leads, the females in this movie were strong characters and you wanted to follow their story. I am a huge fan of Darlingside and was pleasantly surprised they were able to get that level of music throughout this film. Well done. Would watch again.
Emma Bell and Hope Lauren's portrayal of sisters Millie and Emma's tumultuous relationship is purely delightful. The film, set mostly in the mid-west is warm, charming and relatable. Given a bigger budget and longer to tell the story I think this film could have been a cult hit. It left me smiling and wanting more from the two main characters. A perfect easy watch for a Sunday afternoon.
