Spring Forward
Trying to put himself back together after serving prison time for robbery, Paul takes a job as a parks employee in a small Connecticut town. His co-worker, Murph, a generation older than Paul, is dealing with his own issues, chiefly the the impending death of his very ill gay son. After the men have a run-in with local snob Frederickson, Murph's age and experience starts to temper Paul's fiery nature, as the younger man begins to embrace his new life.

Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast
I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
Blistering performances.
I liked this movie and found it an interesting character study that creates a hypnotic viewing experience. A few times the writing can be a bit overboard, but it's mostly very good. The one scene that stood out to me as really out of character was one towards the first where the character Paul runs off into the woods and starts crying. To me, it seemed vary unlikely that it would've happened this way. It doesn't seem likely, and this seemed more like a blunt object to set up the plot and background than coming out of the character here.To me, this movie was much more interesting for things that were unsaid than for the things that were said. The negative space is used well and I was glad they didn't follow up everything with some explanation of what happened next. You have to stay observant and make connections rather than expecting to be spoon fed. Nothing is certain in life, and neither is this movie. If you want a very linear storyline then go see something else. But if you want to examine the edges of things that are said and things that are meant, but not said, this is a good movie.Fascinating to watch. Peri Gilpin's brief appearance was perfect, also.
I picked out this film randomly at the video store and I found it incredibly powerful and fitting to adult life, and every human's inevitable life ahead of them.I want to mention how low key some of the aspects of this film are (like having a mere 11 characters), but I don't want to spoil anyone's chance of seeing this, because not just people into indie films can be moved by something like this. Despite the movie's deep tone, I found it incredibly uplifting. What we become is not important, its the relationships we build with others that really gives our lives meaning.
There's not much of a plot to this movie, but i still love it. Its not a movie i would watch over and over, i've seen it around 5 times, i actually own it, and its still good. Its hard to sit through, very down key. The ending is slow, the beginning is slower. But, its a wonderful movie. By the end of the movie you really KNOW the characters though. You don't get that with a lot of movies. This is more a movie you would watch when your having a slow day yourself. It denys me the ability to catagorize it, it lacks action, mystery. The bit of romance it does include isn't over powering. In all, i suppose it lacks definition. Sadly enough.
This is one of those indie pics that were so popular in the late 90's,Which means, you either never heard of it or it was a smash. This one isthe former! But I found it and since I always liked Ned Beatty buthaven't seen him in much these days, I rented it. It was a somewhat slow but very interesting character study. I liked thecharacters right away especially the beginning scene when they werebeing asked to load up a pickup truck with fertilizer and the youngerman refused to do it because he felt they were being used andunappreciated, and even called the guy a faggot for it! But there were too many undeveloped possibilities like the one where hemeets the pretty lady who gives him one of her puppies. He was desperateto meet a woman and when he did we never see it develop! The marijuana smoking scene was the best and seeing the old coot Nedpull on a doobie was awesome! In scenes like that, we see how the olderman grew youthful! The movie was basically about how we can learn from each otherregardless of age. Getting old is only a bad thing if you stop learning
